1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use Kaki, including the Kaki Family app at family.kaki.build and the website at kaki.build. Kaki is operated by Frankie Chia, an individual based in Singapore (“we”, “us”).

By creating an account, accepting a managed family login or using Kaki, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Kaki.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or accept a managed login. Children do not currently have their own Kaki accounts; a parent or guardian manages their information.

2. Beta service

Kaki is currently offered as a free beta. During the beta, features may be added, changed or removed; the service may be unavailable, slow or contain errors; and Kaki may request optional feedback.

If paid plans are introduced, pricing and applicable terms will be disclosed before any charge. Nothing will be charged without your agreement.

3. Accounts and security

4. Families and managed access

When you create a family, you become its owner. The owner controls invitations, membership and managed Support Network accounts.

5. Your content

Content you add, including people profiles, events, classes, expenses, meals, recipes, groceries, trips, packing lists and notes, remains yours or the relevant content owner's.

You grant Kaki a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, process, display, back up and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve Kaki for you and authorised household accounts. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to the retention and backup rules in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for having the right to add and share the content, and for ensuring it does not violate law or another person's rights.

6. Sharing features

Kaki may let you share grocery lists, meal plans, packing lists, family invitations, managed-login details or links through your device or third-party apps such as WhatsApp, Messages or email.

7. Acceptable use

Do not:

Kaki may suspend or remove access where these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached, or where reasonably necessary to protect users, data or the service.

8. Third-party services

Some features connect to third-party services, including Google Calendar, or use your device's sharing tools. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. Connections are optional and may be disconnected where Kaki provides that option.

Kaki is not responsible for third-party availability or conduct. If a provider changes or withdraws access, the related Kaki feature may stop working.

9. Planning aid, not a guarantee

Kaki helps families coordinate, but it is a planning aid. Reminders, Needs Attention alerts, calendar synchronisation, grocery and meal information, trip readiness, packing lists and cost estimates depend on the information entered and connected services operating correctly.

Do not rely on Kaki alone for critical matters such as child pickup, medical care, emergency arrangements, passports or travel documents, safety arrangements or payment deadlines. Kaki does not provide financial, legal, medical or professional advice.

10. Warranties and liability

Kaki is provided “as is” and “as available”, especially during beta. To the extent permitted by law, Kaki does not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, perfect accuracy, or that data will never be lost. Keep independent copies of essential information.

To the extent permitted by law, Kaki is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or loss caused by missed events, reminders, sync problems, unavailable third-party services, incorrect planning information or unauthorised onward sharing by a recipient.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Singapore law, or any rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.

11. Ending your use

You may stop using Kaki at any time and delete your account through the app. If you are the sole owner of a family, deleting the account also deletes that family and its associated data, subject to provider backup cycles described in the Privacy Policy.

Owners may revoke a managed account immediately. Revocation stops access but may preserve the person's profile and historical attribution.

Kaki may suspend or end the service or an account for breach, security reasons or operational necessity. Where practical, reasonable notice and an opportunity to export information will be provided if Kaki closes the service.

12. Changes to Kaki and these terms

Kaki may update these terms as the service develops. For material changes, the date above will be updated and notice will be provided in the app or by email before the change takes effect where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes are subject to the courts of Singapore, while the parties should first try to resolve concerns directly. Mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
